IS CBD right for you?
What is CBD?
CBD or Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound with an extraordinary therapeutic potential.
What is a Cannabinoid?
A cannabinoid is a chemical that triggers the cannabinoid receptor system in your body. The cannabinoid receptors are a class of cell membrane receptors under the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. Cannabinoid receptors are activated by three major group of ligands, endocannabinoids (produced by the mammalian body), plant cannabinoids (such as THC, produced by the cannabis plant) and synthetic cannabinoids (such as HU-210). All of the endocannabinoids and plant cannabinoids are lipophilic, i.e. fat soluble, compounds.
CBD has been shown to have a strong anti-oxidant, anti-spasmodic, anti-convulsant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties. Cannabidiol directly activates serotonin receptors and causes an anti-depressant effect.
Clinical and scientific studies show that CBD may be therapeutic for many chronic conditions including cancer, anxiety, diabetes, chronic pain, epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, sleep disorders, and neurological ailments.
More than 100 cannabinoids have been identified in the cannabis plant. CBD and THC have been studied most extensively.
What is THC?
Tetrahydrocannabinol also known as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or dronabinol, is the main psychoactive substance found in the cannabis plant.
It was first isolated in 1964. In pure form, it is a glassy solid when cold, and becomes viscous and sticky if warmed. An aromatic terpenoid, THC has a very low solubility in water, but good solubility in most organic solvents.
Like most pharmacologically-active secondary metabolites of plants, THC in cannabis is assumed to be involved in self-defense, perhaps against herbivores.[7] THC also possesses high UV-B (280-315 nm) absorption properties, which, it has been speculated, could protect the plant from harmful UV radiation exposure.

CBD is a non toxic and non-psychoactive medicine that doesn’t make people feel “stoned” It works synergistic-ally with THC. Cannabidiol enhances THC’s painkilling impact, while muting THC’s psychoactivity. CBD can also neutralize unfavorable effects that THC may cause, such as anxiety and rapid heartbeat.
